Alhaj Monir Hossain started his journey with no capital investment in the year 1972 in kids garments. It was named Nargis Garments after his daughter's name Nargis Akhter.
With the increase in popularity among Dhaka city dwellers, the business stepped into another sector of garments. In 1982, Nargis Garments was closed down with the beginning of V. S. Buddhirana Co. Pvt. Ltd. The main products were woolen sweaters, jumpers and scarf.
With his hard working and ambition to become the best manufacturer of warm clothing in Bangladesh, Mr. Hossain travelled extensively all over the South Asia region for new designs and machinery.
